Staff Book Swap & Drop

“We had lots of books donated to the library when I first started, some from my own friends and family, some from staff, even a pupil parent I know outside of school who is a reviewer for a publisher. Any books that are suitable for the school pupils I keep for the library. However, quite a few are not suitable, so I set up a ‘Staff Swap and Drop’ book case in the staff room.

“The idea is staff can help themselves to books, no issuing on the Library Management System, they can return them once they have read them, or keep them if they wish, and, hopefully donate books they have at home and want to pass on. Any staff books donated are dropped into the library (I have had 2 full boxes handed in over Easter) checked and if suitable for the library I absorb them into the collection and any that are not will be added to the Swap and Drop book case when there is space.”
