Human Resources

HR Policies & Procedures

The Trust provides a central Human Resources service which enables Academy HR staff and Headteachers to adhere to legislation and HR policies and procedures. The services allow Academies to recruit and retain quality staff, deal with HR queries efficiently and compliantly and allow leaders to focus on achieving the best for the children in our Academies.

HR policies and procedures are reviewed centrally. The central HR team ensures that these policies are reviewed and are up-to-date with legislation. All Academies have access to a large bank of resources to support these policies and procedures including template letters and forms.

Expert advice and support

Central HR provide immediate advice and support to all Academies. We also work closely with our expert external HR partner. There is a network of HR staff across Academies who meet regularly over the academic year to share best practice.

Regular training takes place for Academy staff including pre-employment workshops and mental health workshops.

Staff Wellbeing

The Trust are committed to fostering a culture that values the health and well-being of all employees. Central HR lead on the Trust’s wellbeing strategy ensuring we are offering staff the most beneficial wellbeing packages.

We are proud to currently offer a comprehensive well-being package to all employees, including access to 24/7 online GP, physiotherapy services and counselling services. We also offer all employees annual health checks which includes the flu jab, BMI checks and a general discussion with a qualified Nurse.

We also offer schemes such as Cycle to Work and The Tech Scheme.

Central Systems

There are a number of systems which are rolled out centrally to ensure consistency and compliance across Academies. This includes Online SCR who are an online system for the Single Central Record and Edupay our payroll platform. Edupay also aids with onboarding new employees and allows employment contracts to be completed centrally.

Job adverts, descriptions and specifications are held centrally ensuring that Academies attract the most suitable candidates for vacant roles. Staff turnover and leaving questionnaires are also monitored centrally so that strategies can be recommended to ensure we retain our staff.
